Seminar within the framework of TEMPUS-FLEPP (Foreign Languages Education for Professional Purposes) project was held at Azerbaijan University of Languages on 25-27 April 2016. Working groups from National Aviation Academy, Baku State University, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry, Azerbaijan Medical University and Azerbaijan State Agricultural University took part in the seminar.
The seminar was on Syllabus design – Assessment procedures and criteria. Using CEFR as a reference point, assessment tasks and descriptors were the main topic. Examples of assessment tasks, criteria and grading systems for writing and speaking were viewed in the seminar.
It is a project locally coordinated by Azerbaijan University of Languages, with the participation of partner universities in Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan coordinated by Swedish, Estonian, German, Italian and UK universities. The project launched on March 2014 and the specific objectives of the TEMPUS-FLEPP project are: 1) to help specialized Universities to restructure their language curricula;2) to train and/or retrain foreign language teachers at specialized Universities;3) to help specialized Universities build their teaching and technical resources;4) to disseminate the results and to train groups of professionals and disadvantaged groups within the Life-Long-Learning segment of the project.
